The Story So Far...

How much has changed since that first post I dared write all those years ago... I have travelled the world and lived in some remarkable countries, falling in and out of love with those who touch my heart.

I have said goodbye to the Shire once more and am now in the Far East, exploring and discovering myself as well as another culture. I am incredibly blessed to have all I have and only look forward to what each day brings.

Bohemia and the Antipodes are a distant memory, though I will never forget the happy time I spent there. Even the delightful year I spent living with the Duke's sister, which was more than just a memorable experience, feels somewhat fleeting.

Que sera sera.

The death of my darling Nana will be the most poignant memory from the Antipodes... Or rather, the time we had together. She will always be my guide. At this moment I know she's be telling me to do what is right, to face the consequences of my actions and move on. She was the bravest of ladies, and I miss her terribly.

Sonnets from the Portuguese, XLIII
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right,
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith;
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, – I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! – and if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
